love and dove update!
love and dove are finally updated! a year and 1 month exactly after the initial upload which i did not plan lol. this update includes:
- new shell (bunny suits lol)
- updated/additional dialogue (not a whole lot)
- changes to links so network updates should work now
- new thumbnails
- custom balloon
please note: if you have the original download, reinstalling via the .nar file will be the only way to get this update, network updates don't work on their original release. if you've never downloaded them, installing via the .nar as normal works fine.
i honestly don't remember half the changes i made because i did most of them about a year ago. at least the network updates should work now so i can continue to make updates (not promising anything soon lol).
i guess a mini post-mortem following their original upload might be interesting. i need to go back and actually figure out who these characters are beyond just being... characters so i can actually write good dialogue for them lol. i don't hate most of their dialogue but i'm aware it's not the most life changing (it's a ghost but ykwim). so i want to try and create a plot and stuff for them, even if it only lives in my head. then the plot can help me fuel dialogue that's actually more interesting then just cute non-sequiturs. although a comic or visual novel would probably be the best method to explore more of their story, i don't see that happening any time soon, and the only thing i'm capable of doing on my own - prose fiction - doesn't feel right for them. their larger story may remain to be seen lol.
but regardless, i learnt a lot and enjoy ghost development as a fun hobby. i want to keep refining my dev skills so i can maybe start to add more features than just dialogue and art. we'll see! please enjoy the new update.

in other news, i made my first sale! thanks to whoever bought the mecha fiction zine i made a while ago. i forgot i even added the ability to pwyw (you can still get it for free) on that one lol.
i also released a new zine! this one was for the decker fantasy camp 2026. there are some great entries so far, go check them out! this zine was something i put together pretty quickly, but i'm just having fun making stuff that's actually finished lol.
