old obsessions
i did make another zine this past fortnight but otherwise feel like i haven't worked much because fallen aces episode 2 came out and i haven't done much else but play that. i'm a big fan of the game, so i was very excited when it finally dropped. the addition to the story was fun, i loved getting to explore more of the city and find news ways to whack a new bunch of goons. i love the characters a lot, especially nightwave, but mike is a good protagonist too. it'd been over a year since i last played it, when the game first released. maybe i'll try and learn the level editor this time around? i have to figure out how to even play other people's custom levels first because i've never used the steam workshop.
anyway, back to the zine. this time around it's some abstract-ish art ive made, collected into a 3 page petal zine. check it out! the folding instructions are not my best work so maybe just look up how to make a petal zine and use that. i entered it as part of free zine week, which means it'll be included in the bundle with everyone else's work. the bundle isn't live yet so i can't link it here, but it'll let you download everything for free, of course.
the art does have meaning behind it, but i don't feel like explaining it because who cares what i say it means. it doesn't give you a lot to work with so you can make your own thing to work with it, you know? it feels a little obvious to me what it means anyway, but i don't know if that's actually clear to anyone else. regardless, i'm finding lately i have a strong interest in abstracting or obfuscating the meaning or form of something into something new, so this is part of that. pretentious way of saying i like cutting things up that make sense into things that don't make sense.
i've also made a little bit of progress on my photography project, hopefully i'll be able to take more photos too. that one will probably end up being my first colour zine, but i want to post some of the photos directly online as well.
once again my pc has started throwing random bsod errors. it gives a different one each time so i'm assuming its some fundamental problem. i sent it in to get the first time it did that and they did some bios fix. maybe it does actually need something physical replaced, but the whole set up is only about 2 years old. i use it a lot but not that intensively to wear it out this fast... there is an issue with some drivers because the leds keep coming on when i turn them all off cuz lets be honest, rgb on pcs is just tacky. it looks bad. i dont want that shit. anyway, i still have my old laptop at least. might also be time to figure out how to take the heatsink off and clean it...
