feeling like a dev again
last week i played man i just wanna go home. that wonderful experience, combined with the fact my pc died (although its back working again yay), made me finally pick up renpy and start tooling around. i mentioned a while back i wanted my current game project to be done in godot, but being forced onto my laptop meant that wasn't going to work (it runs on there, it's just a horrible user experience). combined with the fact i'm tossing out the 3D elements because it'll just bloat the dev time (more than it already has been...), renpy seemed like the way to go.
man i just wanna go home has a lot of style and interest. although most renpy games still have a "renpy air" to them, they can have their own feel layered heavily on top that still makes for a new experience. so im more confident i can make something somewhat unique within it.
i delayed this post a bit because i wanted to have screenshots to post but theres some things i wanted to finish before i posted anything so ill leave it to next fortnight. for now though i have the basic look i want working - the core part of it at least.
im also working on a reading list page for this site where i can link posts im reading, games ive played, etc. but its a little broken atm because i wanted to make it look fun and interesting (compared to the rest of this blog).
anyway, its a short one because its late, so more details next time.
